The Era, 12 January 1916, listed The Little Grey Home In The West (South) as On The Road from 17 January at the Junction, Manchester. Also The Stage, 13 and 20 January 1916. Also: ‘Mr. [sic] F. G. Kimberley’s latest work, “The Little Grey Home in the West,” is admirably played at the Grand Junction Theatre by Mr. and Mrs. E. Vaughan’s company. It is a domestic drama of a pleasing type, and throughout the ten scenes there is never a dull moment’ (Manchester Evening News, 18 January 1916). ‘It becomes an interesting question as to whether the song-title, The Little Grey Home in the West, or the decided merits of Mr. and Mrs. E. Vaughan’s company were responsible for both houses being well filled on Monday. The play grips one throughout, and the company are well balanced’ (The Stage, 20 January 1916).
