The Man They Wouldn't Pass
Examiner of Plays' Summary:
This is a pretty domestic sketch of a tiff between a spirited young wife and her affectionate middle-aged husband, whom she is anxious to see join the Sportsman's battalion. He does not like to sadden her by explaining that the state of his heart - 'rowing heart' - as he was an old oarsman - prevents his being medically passed for a commission; and there is a painful misunderstanding till the wife finds out to her distress how she has misjudged her husband. Natural, pleasant and sensible. Recommended for license. Ernest A. Bendall.
