Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

Fatuous Rubbish. There are two soldier brothers, one is 'treasurer of the regiment' and the other, being pressed for £5000, tries to induce the General's daughter to obtain, for him, the 'combination' of the safe. The treasurer overhears him and they fight a duel in which the scoundrel brother is disarmed. Then the others announce their engagement and make him promise to incur no more debts. It is a pity that plays about soldiers should be written by such incredibly ignorant persons, but since this is merely idiotic it is Recommended for License. G. S. Street
