Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This is a mere high-spirited romp, with nothing dramatic about its bustling action and playful talk. Its thread of plot is connected with a girl who runs away with the lover of her choice. She is pursued by her flirtatious mother, aided by a couple of detectives in female and male disguises, who follow the eloping couple on board ship and endure the perils of a burlesque shipwreck. There is no offence in the childish nonsense: but such proposed songs as are omitted must be forwarded for consideration. Recommended for Licence. Ernest A. Bendall. The songs at present proposed are published ones and unobjectionable. E.A.B. 16 April 1918]
