Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

A cheery nonsensical revue, or musical farce. The action opens in Winklet's humble restaurant, where the humours are those of the burlesque customers of a burlesque waiter, and of the latter's rejection by Winklet as his daughter's suitor. There arrives an announcement that Winklet has been pronounced owner of a valuable South Sea Island, to which he promptly sets sail, together with the whole party, to take possession. When they all get there after a shipwreck the Savage Island King threatens various disasters to them, till the waiter strikes a match, is hailed as the Fire-God and is placed in a position of authority over his late employer. The riotous fun ends with the party's return to England, home and the humours of the waiter's matrimonial triumph. Inoffensive: and recommended for license Ernest A. Rendall.
