William Boyle
William Boyle was an Irish poet/playwright, closely associated with the Abbey Theatre, Dublin. He was a contemporary of W.D. Yeats, Lady Gregory and J.P. Synge. He typically wrote three-act comic musicals. Among his other plays were “The Building Fund,” (1905), “The Eloquent Dempsey” (1906), “The Mineral Workers” (1914), “The Family Failing” (1912), and “Nic” (1916). All were played at the Abbey Theatre, Dublin several times over the years.
