‘Miss Cissie Langley’s popular company have been secured for next week at the Palace Theatre, Chester-le-Street and they will doubtless prove a great attraction. The caste includes Miss Cissie Langley, Messrs. Wyndham Clare, L Langley and T [sic - J for Jack?] Laurie. For the first three nights of the week, the up-to-date drama, “Only a dream,” will be played. On Thursday and Saturday only, the Great War sketch “Nurse Cavell, Martyr,” will be dramatised. This is accounted one of the finest sketches ever written, showing how this brave nurse sacrificed her life at duty’s call.
