The idea of this production [...] there is a 'woman's efficiency league' rigidly exclusive of men, and men get into it disguised as women, It is obvious that such a scheme would lend itself very easily to improprieties [...] In the first scene the men are outside the 'league; one Grimsby wants to see his wife, and his son, his mother; a [...] They agree to disguise themselves as women [...] Inside they enjoy themselves, but there seems to be nothing but romping, then they go to a gambling hell, which is raided by the women as policemen, then they are all reconciled. Mingled with this silliness is a good deal - in songs and c. - of well-meant stuff about women working for the country: it is clearly not meant to ridicule the movement.
