The Women Who Worked
Examiner of Plays' Summary:
A mildly dramatic setting for some stanzas of Hood's famous 'Song of the Shirt'. These are sung by a poor workwoman who, while engaged upon labours for the Red Cross, has to struggle not only against fatigue but against the temptation brutally set before her by an employer who vainly seeks to trade upon her necessity. Recommended for license. Ernest. A. Bendall.
