Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

The script of this seems to be still incomplete. The 1st scene is in full and gives some innocent love-making in Killarney and the inheritance of a fortune by the young woman. For scene II, 'The Boulevards', a scrap of dialogue only is given and in the other two 'The Trenches' and Killarney again none at all. We have instead mention of 'variety turns’: those should be specified. Also songs, not given and not mentioned as published, occur frequently. They must be sent in, if new. Otherwise the piece is Recommended for License G. S. Street. June 7th - the rest of the matter has now come in and is harmless enough. It includes the usual restaurant scene, the joke about a watch on a woman's ankle - quite innocent - a concert is given in the trenches and an Irish scene with a man showing imaginary animals. The songs have all been published. G. S. S.
