Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

[There are no Examiner's notes for this script. However there are notes for the undated additions] ------------------------------ 'Buzz Buzz' (additions) for the Vaudeville theatre, now These new scenes by Wimperis and Jeans are called 'The Maid of the Mountebanks', and are practically a short skit upon the comic opera which has been running so long at Daly's. The chaff of the typical methods of that piece is rather witty, and there is much good natured fun at the expenses of its principal exponent, her possible engagement elsewhere, and the incongruous doings of the melodious Robbers in their pose as Profiteering Tradesmen. There is no offence in either dialogue or ditties" and the fresh scenes are accordingly. Recommended for License. Ernest A. Bendall. [in ink below] Manager informed that these additional scenes can be included in licensed script.
