Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This is a pantomime the ten scenes of which set forth in the familiar manner the legend of Sinbad and his Old Man of the Sea here appropriately named Stickphast. Sinbad duly sails for the Diamond Valley to make a fortune enabling him to marry Blossom. He is accompanied by his comic mother and her avaricious lover with whom he gets wrecked, and lands on the back of a whale which is mistaken by Davy Jones's victims for an island. Thence the whole party makes its way to the King's magic country, where by the aid of the good fairy Coraline and notwithstanding the counterplots of the villain Tinbad they find the diamonds and so enrich themselves that Sinbad gains a Palace in which to establish himself with his beloved Blossom. The fun is of a hearty harmless order: but the words of all songs, whether published or not, must be forwarded for consideration. Recommended for Licence. Ernest A. Bendall. [in ink below] Songs forwarded and passed. 12/12
