Petticoat Fair
Examiner of Plays' Summary:
A simple musical rustic comedy about a woman hating Admiral and a man-hating female square. The latter will have no male servant upon the estate, which is run entirely by girls, one of whom however secretly marries the Admiral's cheery man-servant: and the plot mainly concerns their efforts to conceal their baby by the aid of an old Shepherd. There is no plausibility, nor any offence, int he bucolic nonsense, which is illustrated by a umber of quite innocent ditties. Recommended for Licence. Ernest A. Bendall.
