Examiner of Plays' Summary:
An average melodrama. The villain is an owner of a 'coffin' ship and the hero goes as captain on one of them, taking as a passenger the heroine. The ship is blown up by a bomb put on board by a German spy at the instigation of the owner and after harrowing experiences on a raft hero and heroine are held captive on the German coast by a brutal U-boat officer. There is the usual scene of violence, after which they escape to England; the villain is exposed and after turning out to be the hero's father dies of heart disease. There is nothing in particular to object to. Recommended for licence. G. S. Street.
