Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This is an odd but pleasant sketch of the victory scored by Biddy, a simple little Irish girl, over a couple of haughty ladies who are very rude to her when she speaks to a smart wounded officer, who turns out to be a peer and to have saved the life on the Somme of Biddy's brother, whom he has recommended for his bravery for a commission. How the quartet came to be chatting together in the park is not too clearly set forth; but the discomfiture of the female snobs is effectively managed, as is also the triumph of the Irish damsel in her actual and pathetic appear to their titled champion. Quite pretty, if not too realistic in its romance. Recommended for licence. Ernest A. Bendall.
