Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

Dorrie, wife of Major Hetherington, is alone with her baby when enter a soldier (apparently) who turns out to be Nana, Hetherington's first wife, who has changed clothes with a deserter. Nana was supposed to be dead. She had left Hetherington from jealousy of Dorrie and now returns for vengeance. Eventually, softened by the baby, she consents to go, but Hetherington returns. She hides; Hetherington finds the uniform; Nana shoots herself and goes 'in dying condition'. Sad twaddle, but quite innocent. Recommended for licence. G. S. Street.
