Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This is a pathetic little sketch, rather recalling in its motive a recent playlet of Sir James Barrie. A lame flower girl, pining for 'a boy at the front' like the rest of her pals, has been posing as the lady-friend of a tommy chosen by chance, to whom she has been sending parcels and letters. As he has not replied lately she is grieving over his supposed death, when he suddenly returns and proves to be the sweetheart of another flower-girl, her loyal friend in the trouble brought upon her by her affliction the sentimental interest is prettily if crudely worked out and is relieved by the humours of a dishonesty land-lady and of a Scotch urchin who has run away from home and ultimately provides the disillusioned heroine with an object for her mothering affection. Recommended for licence. Ernest A. Bendall.
