Sinners
Examiner of Plays' Summary:
The 'sinners' are Ruth and Marion, daughters of a smug baronet, Sir Noel, who thinks of little in life except the good name of his family and has brought up his girls under such obsolete restrictions that the elder of them, Ruth, has broken loose, has gone on the stage and is regarded as a disgrace by both her father and sister [...] The argument may not perhaps be a quite sound one: but the play based on it is refreshingly vigorous and quite clean in its glorification of a heroine more sinned against than sinning.
