Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This 'musical farce' is almost worth preserving as a document to show the abyss of imbecility possible on the English stage at the present time. The plot is the old one of the missing heiress who has a mark on her body, in this case a spot on the right knee. An idiotic French detective comes to a lingerie shop to find her. Mannequins are paraded for him without result. Then a vulgar rich woman comes to buy a trousseau and after a scene of witless vulgarity with the proprietor says she has a spot on her knee. It turns out to be her left knee; so the proprietor, who has proposed to her, cries off and his typist having said that she has a spot on her left knee marries her instead. There is nothing suggestive enough to be cut in the fatuous dialogue, but the parade of mannequins on pp3 and 4 since it is obvious that the women's knees are exposed by their dresses, should be cut out. With the two men peering at the women it is offensive. A simple instruction that no dress must exposed the knees might be sent. Otherwise the ineffable trash is regretfully, recommended for licence. G. S. Street. Written undertaking given that in the dialogue and business there is not anything suggestive or vulgar and that the costumes are perfectly decent.
