Princess Suri-Sama
Examiner of Plays' Summary:
This little piece described as a 'fantasia', consists of a spoken prologue, telling the Eastern love-story subsequently illustrated in dumb-show, chorus and dance. The tale is that of an Egyptian Princess who, being ordered by her father to marry a Prince, makes a vain effort to escape from the Palace with the lover of her choice, but failing to do so, stabs herself rather than become the Prince's bride. The romance is well suited to the purpose of a charity entertainment to be given by lady amateurs. Recommended for License. Ernest A. Bendall
