My Lad
Examiner of Plays' Summary:
This is a pretty little wartime sketch of the quarrelsome wooing of a widow by a widower, who both of them are much put out over the food problem of the moment. Each has a son at the Front: and the elderly pair are brought together by news more serious than any about rations. It seems that one of the lads has been killed while saving the other's life: so the old couple cease their Lancashire bickering and resolve to marry for their mutual consolation: natural and wholesome in its humour and sentiment.
