Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This is another example of the ingenious arrangement of the same plot to suit a burlesque of different actors. This time Mr Hawtry is the victim and the dialogue is a sort of parody of 'The Saving Grace'. Hawtry is George Trail and his nephew Gerald is in love with his housemaid. Gerald's mother gives George £100 to buy her off, but the girl refuses Gearld on her own account and George loses the £100 on a horse and imperturbably gives the lady in I.O.U.
