Fortunes of Eileen
Examiner of Plays' Summary:
An average, perfunctory sort of melodrama. John has fled the country because he was falsely accused of poisoning his wife and his daughter Eileen was robbed and ill treated by her aunt. John returned, rich but blind, and the aunt and a wicked doctor plot to keep him from Eileen and get his money, but are defeated by the hero and the comic characters. There is no unpleasant coarseness or violence in the Play. Recommended for Licence. G. S. Street
