Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This is a musical comedy of the Revue type in much of its illustration and treatment. Its simple story is that of the love of a gallant British naval Officer for the daughter of the proprietor of a Tea house in Kotio. The girl's father destines her for the governor to whom he is in debt, and upon whom the tyrannical old functionary threatens to bestow his own divorced wife. The Englishman however pays the father's debt and thus secures the Flower of Japan for his bride. Many incidental numbers are provided for the Japanese Geishas and the British tars; and the words of these where not given must be sent for consideration. Harmlessly if conventionally pretty and Recommended for License Ernest A. Bendall
