The Bull-Dog Breed
Examiner of Plays' Summary:
This is a thriller of the Grand Guignol order ending in a sell. It shows how a rascally German spy, who by some means has secured a commission as lieutenant on HMS Hector, plots with the chief petty officer, whom he has in his power, to blow up the ship by means of a time-bomb placed in the shell-room. The devilry is discovered by the commander and captain who have a race against time to guard against the disaster threatened, who shoot the spy and who finally galvanise him back to life that he may point out to them in which of the shells the danger is concealed. From a few words uttered by the Captain as the curtain falls it is found that the whole episode has been merely the rehearsal of a cinema production. Recommended for license. Ernest A. Bendall
