Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This little sketch, by Gertrude Jennings, is the first of a couple of new playlets to be incorporated in the above revue. It is an amusing squabble between a pair of lady-allotment-holders, who trample down one another's growing crops in the quarrel over an egg, which has been taken from the nest of the hen which has just laid it. The dialogue of the trifle is full of harmless wholesome fun, and has many touches of observant humour. [These Examiner's notes continue but in relation to licence 1221 and the play Peace Time Prophesies. The licencing comments for Allotments and Peace Time Prophesies are given in one document at the British Library which is attached to Allotments, licence 1220. However for the purposes of database searching, the Examiner's notes have been split into two so that they relate to the play being searched. To view the other half of the licence notes search for Peace Time Prophesies] Recommended for license Ernest A. Bendall
