Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

A fantastic farce, dealing with the invention of a professor who has manufactured a liquor with magical effects upon it imbibers. These have the power of rising to any height without the aid of aeroplanes. Thus a farmer, his jealous wife and his lady land-workers, together with a couple of comic loafers all suddenly find themselves in the planet Venus, where they and the inhabitants mutually astonish one another with their manners and customs. The scheme of the play is worked out with nonsensical happy-go-lucky fun rather than with real humour; but its boisterous high spirits never take it beyond the limits of propriety.
