Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

A childish thing. Ludwig is a spy and in that capacity has given Jerome, his servant, a letter to post, keeping the key to the cipher in his pocket book. Laura, in league with Jerome makes Ludwig tipsy and takes the pocket book. But Jerome wishes to sell the secret to Germany on his own; Ludwig revives from his stupor; but Laura, in possession of letter and cipher, smashes the lamp and by the old trick of putting a lit cigarette on a piece of furniture at which they rush, escapes, to give the documents to our Government. It is silly, but I see no harm in it. Recommended for license. G. S. Street
