Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

Two young women ‘theatrical partners’ are in debt to their landlady. One of them dresses up as a naval officer and pretending to be her own brother, talks of having got a large sum in prize-money and pacifies the landlady. Provided that no harm is seen in the dressing up as a naval officer, - and that sort of thing is constantly done - the piece is innocent. It is followed by a topical song with several verses - vulgar but harmless. Exception might be taken to the second verse but I do not think it worth noticing. Recommended for license. G. S. Street
