Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

A short war play of the type which was more frequent earlier in the war. A French chateau; the daughters of the house left in charge of an English doctor; entry of Germans; girl insulted by German officer; English doctor, by means of a secret contrivance gets help and shoots the German officer, who was disguised in an English uniform under his great coat. The military manoeuvres involved and the contrivance for signalling are quite unintelligible, but that is an unimportant detail. There is no excessive brutality or any other harm in the piece.
