Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

A dainty comedietta of the love and jealousy of a Pierrette, who with her Pierrot is engaged by a Duchess to entertain her guests. The Duchess is so taken with the unconventional ways and humour of Pierrot in his performances that she sets up a mild flirtation with him, much to the distress of poor Pierrette who however soon exchanges her sadness for sunny smiles when the casual Pierrot returns to his allegiance. The trifle is treated with an appropriately light touch, and the incidental songs and recitations of the whimsical players are just of the right gossamer texture. Recommended for License, Ernest. A.
