Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This is a revue, which, although on a miniature scale, has much more plot than the average piece of the same order. This plot finds its motive in the fact that a couple of middle-aged honeymooners, who have concealed from one another certain secrets of their pasts, are confronted with these secrets in their riverside hotel. The bridegroom is run to earth by a daughter to whose existence he has not confessed, while the bride is similarly embarrassed by the appearance of an unsuspected son. Their attempts to introduce their respective offspring in other capacities leads to various misunderstandings and jealousies, both in some Furnishing Stores and at Monte Carlo, to which the whole party betakes itself. Eventually the complications are happily straightened out by the convenient discovery that the inconvenient young people are in love with one another, and are seeking the consent of their parents with a view to matrimony. Harmless fun worthy of wittier elaboration.
