Under the Greenwood Tree
Examiner of Plays' Summary:
This little piece described as a "Revue in Miniature" has for its chief feature a mild burlesque of the temptations of Faust by a comic Mephistophiles, and of his attempted fascination of Margueritte by the aid of commonplace gifts from Liptons. For the rest there are choruses and playful dialogue for cockneys about to live the simple life "under the greenwood tree". There is no particular point in any of it; but neither is there any offence. Recommended for Licence.
