Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This is a revue or musical farce, having for its plot the device of a newspaper editor to secure a sensational advertisement for his paper by reporting the robbery of some valuable securities from his safe, a robbery which he has committed himself. The fun, such as it is, consists of the doings of the sham-detectives who are put on the false scent of the husband-hunting heiress from America who is suspected of theft, and of the newspaper staff, which consists entirely of lady-journalists. The dramatis personae move after the first act, for no particular reason, to Blackpool, where they indulge in various flirtation. The fun if feeble is harmless; but the words of the songs "Rumours" p31 and "If I could only say in French" p47 should be forwarded for approval. Recommended for license. Ernest A. Bendall
