Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This "musical comedy revue is remarkable for its extreme review. There are five scenes, involving four changes of scenery, and a very few pages to each. Possibly it is intended to fill them out but I can only deal with the play before me, which short though it is, quite complete. The first scene is in Trafalgar Square. A fortune teller announces to 'Arry that he will have a windfall that night, and he does, being given a coat containing notes for £1,000. After a clog dance in a street scene, he and 'Arriet go to a night club where there is more dancing and song. The 4th scene is a cat fight without words, followed by a song, and then 'Arry gives a garden party, at the end of which he comes to the end of his £1,0000 ad gives the last sovereign to the fortune teller. If all the dialogue is here I suppose the dances will take up the time. Dialogue and songs are alike quite harmless. Recommended for Licence G. S. Street
