The Story of the Moss Rose
Examiner of Plays' Summary:
This is a series of dainty episodes strung together on a rather disconnected plot. The first scene is a garden in which there figure Various flowers, which discuss their longings and jealousies with a Dancing Butterfly, and later on with Cupid. Then comes along a Huntsman seeking advice from the Fairy Queen as to his quarrel with Cupid who eventually favours his courtship of the Moss Rose. There is very little dramatic significance in the trifle; but what there is has plenty of innocent if childish charm. The words of any songs should, if new, be forwarded for approval.
