Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

There is little wit but no immorality in this "musical absurdity". Sammy is the humorously idiotic son of a wealthy Lancashire Mrs Malaprop. He becomes the partner of one Openshaw. The latter's daughter is loved by Frank who he insists shall do some heroic deed before marrying her. Sammy arranges this by getting a dummy like the daughter which is to be thrown overboard and rescued by Frank - they are all on a trip organized by Sammy - but Frank throws overboard Openshaw by mistake and rescues him. Openshaw sees the trick but all is made right by Frank's coming into a fortune, and O. marries Sammy's mother. There is no suggestiveness in the piece. Songs I understand will be sent later.
