When the Clock Went Wrong. A Tale of a New Laid Egg
Examiner of Plays' Summary:
[...] A childish little farce of misunderstanding. An old Irish servant gives a clock to an old German clock-mender to be repaired. The clock is known as "She" having been a present to the mistress of the house. So when the servant tells the husband about the clock the latter, having had a tiff with his wife, supposes that she has run away with a German, various expressions being applicable both to the clock and the lady. Then the wife appears and "she" is explained. There is no harm in it. Recommended for Licence. G. S. Street
