Karel Havlicek Borovsky
Examiner of Plays' Summary:
This is a little sketch, historically rather than dramatically interesting, of the close of the career of Borovsky, Bohemian author and journalist, and agitator against the Austrian tyranny over Czech nationalists. It shows him existing princely overtures, which he regards as treacherous to his country: condemned to a cessation of his newspaper protests: and finally to a term of imprisonment, during which his wife dies and he himself is struck with mortal illness. It breathes quite effectively the Bohemian spirit of 1848. Ernest A. Bendall. 1 January 1917
