Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This is a very amateurish Pantomime version of the nursery story. It has for its second title "The Wicked Wolf and the Prince's Magic Sword", which suggests its underplot in the prowess of a Prince who magically slays the Wolf in order to win his lady-love, Dolly Dimple. The humours of the village idiot, Simple Simon, and of the husband-hunting Dame serve to pad out the slender tale, as told in verse which halts in spite of its redundant feet. The words of any song which are to be introduced must be forwarded for consideration. Recommended for Licence E. A. Bendall Songs forwarded and approved.
