This is a very amateurish Pantomime version of the nursery story. It has for its second title "The Wicked Wolf and the Prince's Magic Sword", which suggests its underplot in the prowess of a Prince who magically slays the Wolf in order to win his lady-love, Dolly Dimple. The humours of the village idiot, Simple Simon, and of the husband-hunting Dame serve to pad out the slender tale, as told in verse which halts in spite of its redundant feet.
