The Fair One wth the Golden Locks
Examiner of Plays' Summary:
This is a Pantomime of the elementary order, telling, and to some extent [overwriting], the story of the courtship of the " [...], the youthful King of Diamonds, who has made a fortune in South Africa, and the Yellow Dwarf. It is to the latter that the heroine has been promised by her mother, but she takes matters into her own hands, and with the aid of the customary Good Fairy she escapes from the clutches of the Yellow Villain, who is finally disposed of by a magic sword. There is no offence in this crude extravaganza; but the word of all songs which are to be introduced must be forwarded for consideration. Recommended for Licence E. A. Bendall Songs forwarded and approved.
