Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

Mother’s Goose lays golden eggs until Mother Goose grows discontented when the goose flies away. It is pursued by the various characters in aeroplanes without result, but mother goose growing contented again the good fairy restores the goose. Apart from this theme there is Winnie who loves Teddy and is pursued by the wicked Baron, who also tries to get the goose and is defeated at both attempts. The pantomime depends almost entirely on puns which are happily innocent. Allusions to the Kaiser and the war are not many and are not excessive in tone. The songs have been published to judge by the titles are inoffensive. Recommended for license. G. S. Street
