Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

A gay husband who proposes an evening at the club finds his wife agree to it very readily on the ground that she is expecting friends to help her knit socks for soldier on his sudden return home however, he finds her guest to be a man who is making love to her, and as the guest’s wife presently turns up matters soon get lively for the mutually faithless pair. The theme is a vulgar one; but here is nothing seriously offensive in this treatment, which is wholly farcical in its illustration of matrimonial jealousy apparently not unfounded on either side, the husband counters his wife’s fraudulent socks with a pair of silk stockings; and there the nonsense ends. Recommended for license, Ernest A. Bendall.
