Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This is the third version of this revue. The plot, much as it is, remains much as before. Cohen, the proprietor of some stores, quarrels with his son about the latter’s marriage and takes lessons from a ‘Society instructor’. New elements consist of a song with living puppets - ‘Jack in the box’ - and a long topical song. The original dialogue has been altered here and there. There is nothing offensive in it, and I do not think there has been any complaint about this particular revue. The song opposite p.21 - what sort of a night?” - might possibly offend people on the lookout for offence I do not think any harm is intended. Recommended for license. G. S. Street
