Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

The daintiest imaginable floral fantasy. It opens in a country lane where the wildflowers come to life to resent the grumbling of a dryasdust professor of botany who grumbles because they are not nutritious herbs. They tease him with the aid of a scarecrow and a rabbit: and the scene ends with a glorification of the lane as a paradise for lovers in the next scene, laid in a French chateau, a wounded English soldier is seen rejoiced by the receipt of a box of wildflowers from home, and still more by his recognition of his nurse as his violet of days gone by. Quite charming: and recommended for license Ernest A. Bendall
