The Brass Door-Knob
Examiner of Plays' Summary:
Rather a novel idea in the way of spy plays. A spy, disguised as a hawker, gets into the flat of a Naval architect, who has invented an armoured car, covers his wife with a pistol, and makes her get the plans from a secret drawer. When she tells him that opening the drawer has charged the door knob with a fatal current of electricity, which cannot be turned off until the door is opened from the outside. He makes her put her hand on it, and she pretends to fall dead - then gets possession of his revolver, and holds him up till the arrival of her husband. Recommended for license. G. S. Street
