Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

[...] The "paying guests" are taken in - as is the proprietor of the establishment - by a dishonest butler, who takes the opportunity of his master's absence to turn a mansion into a boarding-house. The lodgers include a Mayor and his early-Victorian daughters, a dashing actress, a Bookmaker, a gentleman from Houndsditch, a French swell and an English "nut", so their proceedings in the way of dance, song and comic business, are naturally mixed up as well as uproarious, until the unexpected return of the master puts an end to them and the feebly-funny piece.
