Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

This is a host burlesque written for two music-hall performers, Will and Sam Poluski. Sam come son to sing and is interrupted by will scrubbing the stage. Then Sam announces that he has been asked to perform at the military hospital, Aldershot, and proposes to act Little Lord Fauntleroy. Will is given the part of the dying child and Sam takes his father. They rehearse it with absurd but quite innocent effects. I notice on p.2 ‘Queen Alexandra will be there’ but there is no disrespect intended. on p.4 there is business of dressing on stage trousers business etc.’ A caution might be worthwhile but form the nature of the piece I do not think anything indecorous is intended.
