Great War Theatre

Examiner of Plays' Summary:

The lines of the old story are preserved without any excessive admixture of vulgar modernity. It may, or may not, be a novel feature that in the first part of the pantomime the prince and his valet change places so that the Baron and the ugly step-sisters are deceived. There is no allusion to the War, except for one scene, which is 'the allies on the plains of Auvergne; and this contains only a song. All the songs but one are given as published: that one is inoffensive and so, to judge by their titles, are the others. Recommended for license. G. S. Street
