Examiner of Plays' Summary:

A Scottish farce dealing with the strategy of a fraudulent nephew who, having got money from his wealthy aunt on the strength of an imaginary marriage and the illness of an imaginary child, finds himself in an awkward predicament when his benefactress visits him in reply to his appeal for further pecuniary help. By the advice of his old crony, a canny barber,he introduces the latter's little boy as the invalid little girl whom his aunt expects to see; while the barber poses as the child's doctor. There is nothing at all convincing in the development of the ingenuous imposter and its disastrous results; but there is nothing to give the least offence.
